The ministry of Redeemer’s Song held its first orientation day the fall of 2000. The ministry operated primarily out of Stavanger Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, MN, and here the team performed its first musical production Jesus Is May of 2001. The expanding group went on to complete a successful six-year run, ending the spring of 2006 with its final, student-directed production A Debt of a Salesman written by Armin Jahr, III. Within those six years, RS produced five dinner theatre fundraiser events, seven full-length spring productions, five Christmas productions, two RS In.vention In.tervention outreach events, one RS Dramatic Duo presentation, and held one traveling weekend theatre workshop in New Ulm, MN. RS celebrated its five-year reunion June, 2005, and boasted an 85-person membership over its five years of service. The ministry has been commended for its professional quality of theatre production, and for the Christ-centered content Redeemers’ Song always strives to instill in each unique presentation. RS has been a source of encouragement for not only its audiences, but for its members. RS is a youth training tool used to prepare young people for service through art and drama.
In the fall of 2010, Redeemer’s Song will establish roots again in Fergus Falls, MN. Newly named, Redeemer’s Song Ministries will encompass not only the senior high and junior high theatre production groups, but a family film ministry production company, a collegiate level outreach team, an educational film production program, RS In.vention In.tervention, and affiliate Redeemer’s Song Bloomington at Oak Hill Lutheran Brethren Church in Bloomington, Minnesota. Pray for us, as we seek to follow the Lord’s leading and as we prepare young people to do the same.
